Please read this page to the end. It says how the kids classes work and what the season costs: we would rather you knew all of it before the first class than after.

The trial class

Le cours d'essai

The trial class is free of charge and not binding. Kids classes take place on , from to , at our dojo at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB): . Building L is the one that houses the swimming pool and the Basic-Fit gym.

Le cours d'essai est gratuit et sans engagement. Les cours enfants ont lieu , de à , à notre dojo de la Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) : . Le bâtiment L est celui de la piscine et de la salle Basic-Fit.

Each class lasts one hour. The group depends on the year of birth:

Those born in or earlier train in the adult classes. A child can be placed in the other group to take account of build, maturity or experience: that decision rests entirely with Carlotta and the professors. There is no class during the school holidays of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Les jeunes nés en ou avant s'entraînent dans les cours adultes. Un enfant peut être placé dans l'autre groupe pour tenir compte de sa corpulence, de sa maturité ou de son expérience : cette décision appartient entièrement à Carlotta et aux professeurs. Il n'y a pas cours pendant les vacances scolaires de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

For the trial class, we ask the legal representative, or another adult accompanying the child, to stay at the dojo during the class. Those accompanying the children are welcome to watch it, from the area set aside for them.

Pour le cours d'essai, nous demandons au responsable légal, ou à un autre adulte qui accompagne l'enfant, de rester au dojo pendant le cours. Les accompagnants sont les bienvenus pour le regarder, depuis l'espace prévu pour eux.

Who teaches

Qui enseigne

Carlotta founded Kaizen together with Mauro and Robert and leads the kids programme. She was promoted to brown belt by Grand Master Flavio Behring in 2019.

The fee includes a sports insurance. We ask for a commitment of at least one season: a child who joins during the season pays the full fee all the same.

La cotisation comprend une assurance sportive. Nous demandons un engagement d'au moins une saison : un enfant qui commence en cours de saison paie malgré tout la cotisation entière.

To practise, a child needs a kimono and a white belt. We lend one for the trial class. Members can buy the academy's kids kimono at , with our patch sewn on the back and a white belt included.

Pour pratiquer, un enfant a besoin d'un kimono et d'une ceinture blanche. Nous en prêtons un pour le cours d'essai. Les membres peuvent acheter le kimono enfant de l'académie à , avec notre écusson cousu dans le dos et une ceinture blanche incluse.

Jiu-jitsu is a path you walk with us, or elsewhere. We do not accept children who train at another academy at the same time.

Le jiu-jitsu est un chemin que l'on parcourt avec nous, ou ailleurs. Nous n'acceptons pas les enfants qui s'entraînent en même temps dans une autre académie.

A rashguard or a t-shirt under the kimono.
Nails short, on the hands and on the feet. No jewellery; long hair tied back.
Flip-flops whenever off the tatami.
Do not bring your child if they are unwell or have a skin lesion.

Ongles courts, aux mains et aux pieds. Pas de bijoux ; cheveux longs attachés.
Des claquettes dès qu'on quitte le tatami.
N'amenez pas votre enfant s'il est malade ou a une lésion de la peau.

About the booking

La réservation

You can book for several children at once, on the same day: each one goes to the class of their year of birth.
Book in each child's name, with your own details as their legal representative. Bookings with invented or incomplete details are not accepted.
You can move or cancel your booking up to hours before the class. Later than that, a cancellation counts as not showing up.
If a child does not show up without being cancelled in time, no other trial class can be booked for the family for months. After a second time, no further trial class can be booked.
We send the confirmation by e-mail, with what to bring and when to arrive. Add to your contacts so that it does not end up in spam: our contact card does it in one tap.

Vous pouvez réserver pour plusieurs enfants à la fois, le même jour : chacun va au cours de son année de naissance.
Réservez au nom de chaque enfant, avec vos propres coordonnées en tant que responsable légal. Les réservations avec des données inventées ou incomplètes ne sont pas acceptées.
Vous pouvez déplacer ou annuler votre réservation jusqu'à heures avant le cours. Au-delà, une annulation compte comme une absence.
Si un enfant ne vient pas sans avoir été annulé à temps, aucun autre cours d'essai ne peut être réservé pour la famille pendant mois. Après une deuxième fois, plus aucun cours d'essai ne peut être réservé.
Nous envoyons la confirmation par e-mail, avec ce qu'il faut apporter et l'heure d'arrivée. Ajoutez à vos contacts pour qu'elle n'arrive pas dans les spams : notre fiche contact le fait en un geste.
